Research and Scholarship Collaborative (RSC)

The Research and Scholarship Collaborative provides a space for researchers at Keiser University to collaborate, recruit, learn, share scholarship, and seek resources and opportunities.  The RSC hosts research events and seminars, mentorship programs, clubs and spaces for faculty and students to collaborate across Keiser University’s undergraduate, graduate, US and international campuses.

Our Mission

The mission of the Office of Research and Innovation at Keiser University is to promote commitment to research, as well as, foster and promote ethical research, scholarship, creativity, and innovation across all campuses. We are dedicated to supporting and collaborating with faculty and student researchers, empowering them to pursue meaningful work that enriches knowledge and contributes to both community well-being and societal growth.

Shoshana Dayanim, Ph.D

Professional Experience:

Dr. Dayanim joined Keiser University in 2010, undertaking the responsibility of establishing the Institutional Review Board and has since served as its Chair. Regarded as a research methodologist, she demonstrates proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. During her tenure at Keiser, she has been honored with the student elected “Faculty Mentor Award,” as well as the “Above and Beyond” award.

Dr. Dayanim holds a PhD in Applied Developmental Psychology from Fordham University, a MA in Dance/Movement Therapy/ Counseling from Hahnemann University, and a BFA in Theater from NYU. She served as Principal Investigator on an NICHD grant and conducted her postdoctoral research at Emory University.

Professional Experience:

Dr. MaryJane Mindlin is the Graduate Nursing Department Chair and the DNP/MSN Academic Program Coordinator at Keiser University. Dr. Mindlin possesses over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, nursing/nurse-midwifery education, administration, and research work. Dr. Mindlin brings prior administrative and leadership experience from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, University of New Mexico, Emory University, and University of Florida. She received her BSN and MN (Nurse-Midwifery) from the University of Florida and her PhD (Nursing) from Emory University. In 2000, Dr. Mindlin received the American College of Nurse-Midwives’ Kitty Ernst Award, the national outstanding young life achievement award in Nurse-Midwifery. Dr. Mindlin is a Fellow of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the American Institute of Stress.

Professional Experience:

Dr. Johnathan Ordóñez G. (Nicaragua, 1988) is a Nicaraguan political scientist and author known for his work on regional economic integration in Central America. He has worked in many think tanks, international organizations, and research institutions in Latin America and Europe. He was a SELA Fellow (2010) at Stanford University and an INCASI Fellow (2017) at the Center for Advanced Studies at the University of Cordoba (Argentina). He holds studies in international relations, public policy, economics, and public administration. He has a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Milan and currently is a Full-time faculty and researcher at Keiser University, Latin American Campus in Nicaragua.

Jennifer Peluso, PhD

Professional Experience:

Dr. Jennifer Peluso is the Dean of Academic Affairs at Keiser University’s Flagship Residential Campus in West Palm Beach, Florida. For 30 years, Dr. Peluso has served in various faculty and administrative roles in higher education. Her early academic training and research focused on cognitive psychology and individual differences in encoding and retrieval from memory. As an administrator, Dr. Peluso has developed, led, and presented on institutional initiatives promoting evidence-based best practices of master teachers, student achievement and success, creating and sustaining undergraduate research, high-impact educational practices, graduate student mentoring, programmatic and regional accreditation, and developing academic leaders. Dr. Peluso earned her BA in Psychology from Skidmore College and both her MA and Ph.D. in Psychology from Emory University. Dr. Peluso co-founded and formerly served on the Board of Directors for Achieve Palm Beach County. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Arc of Palm Beach County. She is also a member of the International Executives Association and the Executives’ Association of Palm Beach County.

Ali Zilouchian, Ph.D.

Professional Experience:

Dr. Ali Zilouchian is currently the Director of Applied Engineering program at Keiser University. He is also the Emeritus Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). His sustained contributions and research projects total more than $9M with funding sources from the U.S. DOE, the National Science Foundation (NSF), The Florida Board of Governors (BOG), Florida Power and Light (FPL), Motorola Inc., The School Board of Broward County, JPMorgan Chase Foundation, and others.
Dr. Zilouchian published one book and more than 175 book chapters, scholarly journal papers, and refereed conference proceedings. He has been the associate editor of two Engineering and Computer Science Journals. He is currently active in several professional societies and editorial boards and is a senior member of IEEE and ASME and ASEE and AHSIE.
