Professional Experience
Barbara Porter serves as the University Department Chair for Occupational Therapy Assistant programs at Keiser University, providing academic leadership and program oversight across nine campuses. Her experience at Keiser University also includes serving as an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Director and faculty member. She was appointed by the Florida Occupational Therapy Association (FOTA) to serve as the Regional Representative for Region 4, Northeast Florida.
Before joining Keiser University, she served at Pima Medical Institute as a faculty member, Director of Clinical Education, and Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Director. Her areas of expertise include occupational therapy education, curriculum development, fieldwork education, programmatic accreditation, regulatory compliance, faculty development, student retention, program assessment, and continuous quality improvement.
