Information Security, MS Overview

Keiser University’s Master of Science in Information Security delivers a rigorous overview of the core disciplines that define modern cybersecurity and information assurance. The cybersecurity program covers access control, secure application development, business continuity planning, cryptography, cybersecurity, and e-commerce regulations. Graduate students also gain exposure to physical and architectural security, telecommunications, digital forensics, and risk management. On completion of this master’s in information security, students qualify to sit for the CISSP, one of the most valuable industry certification exams in the cybersecurity industry. For students from a computer science, computer engineering, or information technology background, this advanced degree builds directly on undergraduate degree foundations while pushing into graduate-level theory and applied cybersecurity practice. Program Prerequisites

This program requires a baccalaureate degree in an IT-related computer discipline from an accredited college or university. Applicants must know data structures and algorithms, assembly language and computer architecture, structured programming in a modern high-level language, and discrete mathematics.

Applicants who do not have an adequate background may be required to take one or more of the following prerequisite courses:

The prerequisite courses, when required, must be completed prior to taking the Information Security program courses. However, some exceptions may be permitted by the program director. All the required prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of “B” or higher to continue in the program.
