Keiser University has named veteran higher education leader David A. Armstrong, J.D., president of its Flagship Campus in West Palm Beach. Armstrong, the former president of St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, brings extensive experience in institutional growth, student success, academic innovation, fundraising, and community engagement.

As campus president, Armstrong will lead the continued growth and development of Keiser University’s traditional residential campus, working with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners to strengthen academic quality, expand student opportunities, and advance the University’s student-first mission.

“Dr. Armstrong is a proven higher education leader who understands how to build strong institutions while keeping students at the center of every decision,” said Keiser University Chancellor Arthur Keiser, Ph.D. “His record of expanding opportunity, strengthening academic programs, and connecting universities with the communities they serve makes him an outstanding choice to lead our Flagship Campus into its next chapter.”

Armstrong served as the 10th president of St. Thomas University beginning in 2018. During his tenure, the university achieved eight straight years of enrollment growth, strengthened its financial position, expanded academic offerings, and invested in new and renovated campus facilities. He also led strategic initiatives focused on student outcomes, ethical leadership, donor engagement, and long-term institutional sustainability. Before joining St. Thomas University, Armstrong served as president of Thomas More University in Kentucky and held several leadership positions at Notre Dame College in Ohio. Throughout his career, he has focused on helping private institutions grow, adapt, and create meaningful pathways for students.

A native of Cleveland, Armstrong earned a Juris Doctor from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in political science and accounting from Mercyhurst University. He is also a nationally recognized speaker on higher education law and Title IX issues.
