For nearly 50 years, Keiser University has advanced a student-first mission centered on providing quality career education to motivated students. Founded in Florida in 1977, the University has grown by remaining focused on a fundamental purpose: helping students acquire the knowledge, skills, credentials, and professional preparation needed to improve their lives, strengthen the American workforce, and contribute meaningfully to society.

In response to the U.S. Secretary of Education’s National Call to Action, Keiser University affirms the following commitments.

Transparent, Fair, and Mission-Aligned Admissions

Keiser University believes prospective students deserve clear, accurate, and accessible information about how admissions decisions are made and what will be expected of them as students. Admissions requirements should be understandable before a student applies and should be administered fairly and consistently.

Before enrollment, students meet face-to-face with a counselor and enter into an enrollment agreement that clearly describes the terms of their educational commitment, including tuition and applicable costs. Students are also informed of the academic and institutional responsibilities associated with enrollment, including attendance, satisfactory academic progress, classroom participation, professional conduct, and adherence to University policies. Keiser University consistently enforces these expectations to preserve academic quality, promote student accountability, and help students remain on track toward completion.

The University will continue to publish program-specific admissions requirements, prerequisite expectations, application procedures, transfer-credit policies, and other criteria affecting enrollment. We will regularly review admissions materials to ensure that prospective students receive a complete and accurate description of the standards applicable to their chosen programs.

Admissions decisions will remain grounded in lawful, consistently applied criteria connected to academic readiness, demonstrated achievement, program requirements, and the University’s educational mission. As we have always done, all applicants will receive equal consideration without unlawful discrimination or preferential treatment.

As an institution serving many first-generation, adult, military-affiliated, transfer, and other nontraditional students, Keiser University recognizes that merit may be demonstrated in different ways. Academic preparation, professional experience, military service, perseverance, prior learning, and a student’s capacity to succeed may all provide relevant evidence of readiness when considered under published, program-appropriate standards.

Free Expression, Open Inquiry, and Campus Safety

Keiser University supports the respectful exchange of ideas as an essential part of higher education. Students and faculty should be able to examine difficult questions, encounter differing perspectives, and participate in reasoned debate without fear of harassment, intimidation, or retaliation.

The University will continue to encourage classroom discussion grounded in evidence, intellectual honesty, professional respect, and the educational objectives of each course. Members of the University community may express differing viewpoints and engage with controversial subjects consistent with University policies and applicable law.

Keiser University’s student body includes many working adults, parents, veterans, first-generation students, and individuals balancing significant professional and family responsibilities. Most come to Keiser with a clear and immediate objective: to earn a degree, develop practical skills, and create a better future for themselves and their families. As a result, campus life is generally characterized by purposeful engagement and career preparation rather than protest activity or civil disobedience.

Nevertheless, the University respects peaceful expression and the right of students to engage constructively with issues that matter to them. Freedom of expression does not include violence, threats, targeted harassment, destruction of property, or conduct that materially disrupts instruction, research, authorized events, or normal campus operations. University rules governing conduct and safety will be enforced consistently and without regard to the viewpoint being expressed.

Keiser University will maintain procedures for addressing disruptive behavior, protecting the safety of students and employees, and preserving access to classrooms, laboratories, public lectures, and campus services. Peaceful expression will be respected; conduct that threatens people or prevents the University from fulfilling its educational mission will be addressed promptly.

Intellectual Pluralism and the Pursuit of Knowledge

The purpose of a university is not to tell students what to think, but to strengthen their ability to think critically, evaluate evidence, communicate effectively, and reach informed conclusions.

Keiser University is committed to intellectual pluralism across its academic programs. Courses should expose students to relevant theories, evidence, professional practices, and competing interpretations appropriate to the discipline. Academic content and learning outcomes should be determined by educational value, professional standards, disciplinary knowledge, workforce expectations, and the competencies students need to succeed.

Keiser University’s faculty members must possess appropriate academic or professional credentials within the fields they teach. They also bring relevant, real-world experience from those professions into the classroom. This combination of academic preparation and in-field experience helps students connect theory to practice and understand how course material applies to the workplace.

Faculty recruitment and evaluation will remain focused on academic qualifications, subject-matter expertise, relevant professional experience, teaching effectiveness, scholarly contributions, adherence to academic standards, and commitment to student learning. Political or ideological conformity is not an appropriate condition of employment, advancement, or academic participation.

The University’s research and scholarly activity should advance knowledge, improve professional practice, address consequential challenges, and serve the public good. Research priorities will reflect institutional expertise and areas in which Keiser University can contribute meaningfully, including healthcare, nursing, technology, cybersecurity, education, public safety, business, and workforce development.

Affordability, Transparency, and High-Value Degrees

Higher education represents a significant investment. Institutions have a responsibility to help students and families understand that investment and to provide academic programs that lead to meaningful educational, professional, and economic opportunities.

Keiser University’s career-focused model begins with the needs of students and employers. Programs are developed and reviewed with attention to workforce demand, professional competencies, licensure requirements where applicable, employer input, and opportunities for career advancement. The University will continue working with employers, advisory boards, professional organizations, and community partners to keep curricula aligned with evolving workforce needs.

Keiser University actively publishes information about program costs, including tuition, fees, and other applicable expenses, so students and families can understand the financial commitment associated with enrollment. Before a prospective student enrolls, University representatives thoroughly review program costs, available financial-aid options, and the student’s anticipated financial obligations. These terms are documented through the student’s enrollment agreement, helping each individual make a well-informed decision before committing to a program.

Students and prospective students also receive understandable information about program length, academic requirements, attendance expectations, transfer-credit policies, licensure considerations, satisfactory academic progress, and available student-support services. Keiser University will continue reviewing its disclosures and counseling practices to improve clarity and transparency throughout the enrollment process.

As a private, not-for-profit university that does not rely on direct government operating subsidies, Keiser University must operate within a sound and responsible budget. This requires disciplined financial management, careful stewardship of institutional resources, and continued attention to controlling costs while protecting academic quality and student services.

Affordability is also influenced by persistence and successful completion. The University will continue investing in personalized advising, accessible faculty, academic support, career services, and other resources designed to help students remain enrolled, complete their programs, and enter or advance within the workforce. At the same time, students are expected to meet clearly communicated standards for attendance, academic progress, conduct, and participation. These policies will be enforced consistently because accountability is essential to academic success and professional readiness.

Academic Rigor and Excellence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence offers important opportunities for teaching, research, innovation, and professional practice. It also requires universities to reconsider how they assess learning and verify that students have mastered essential knowledge and skills.

Keiser University is approaching AI as both a powerful educational tool and an area requiring clear academic standards. Students should learn how to use emerging technologies responsibly while developing the independent judgment, creativity, communication abilities, ethical reasoning, and technical competence that technology cannot replace.

As a career-focused university, Keiser must ensure that graduates can perform—not merely describe—the responsibilities of their chosen professions. Academic programs will continue to establish measurable learning outcomes and use appropriate methods to assess student achievement. Depending on the discipline, these methods may include supervised examinations, laboratory work, clinical evaluations, demonstrations, presentations, simulations, portfolios, written analysis, practical assignments, and direct observation of student performance.

Faculty will receive guidance and professional development concerning appropriate AI use, academic integrity, assessment design, and the verification of student learning. Expectations for using or disclosing AI-generated assistance will be communicated clearly to students.

Grades must reflect demonstrated achievement of course and program standards. Keiser University will continue reviewing grading patterns, learning outcomes, course expectations, and assessment practices to identify inconsistencies, uphold rigor, and ensure that academic credentials represent genuine accomplishment.

Research Integrity and Protection from Improper Foreign Influence

Keiser University values international academic engagement when it advances learning, lawful collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge. Across its international locations and partnerships, Keiser

University provides instruction in English and advances educational principles associated with the American system of higher education. Students are introduced to American principles and values, including individual responsibility, academic integrity, freedom of inquiry, entrepreneurship, professional excellence, respect for the rule of law, and the transformative power of education.

At the same time, no outside government, organization, donor, or individual are permitted to compromise the independence of the University’s academic programs, personnel decisions, admissions processes, research activities, or commitments to students.

The University maintains oversight of foreign contracts, partnerships, visiting scholars, sponsored programs, donor agreements, and research relationships in accordance with applicable disclosure and reporting requirements. All agreements preserve institutional control over academic content, program offerings, personnel, research methods, publication decisions, and the administration of University programs.

Keiser University will not accept funding, gifts, partnerships, or other arrangements carrying conditions that compromise academic independence, alter academic offerings for an improper purpose, violate American law, create undisclosed conflicts of interest, or weaken the University’s educational promise to its students. Institutional priorities and academic decisions must remain grounded in student needs, educational quality, workforce relevance, and the University’s mission.

The University will continue strengthening safeguards related to cybersecurity, data access, research compliance, intellectual property, and the disclosure of foreign affiliations. Faculty, researchers, administrators, and other appropriate employees will receive guidance concerning their responsibilities to identify and report potential risks.

International engagement must support—and never supersede—the University’s obligations to its students, the integrity of its academic mission, and the security interests of the United States.
