Golf Management, AS Overview

Keiser University’s Associate of Science in Golf Management covers every dimension of the sport and the business behind it. Coursework spans the history and culture of golf, the science of the swing, golf course design and maintenance, club management, event coordination, and the rules of golf. Students also examine the business side of golf, including inventory management, marketing, and strategic planning for golf facilities. The program prepares graduates to oversee daily operations, support PGA professionals, and pursue a successful career across a broad range of golf and hospitality settings.

Mission Statement

Keiser University’s degree in Golf Management prepares students for a variety of positions in the golf industry. In this program, students are prepared to provide golf instruction, manage golf course operations, ensure appropriate maintenance of golf facilities and equipment, as well as integrate the play of golf into the broader hospitality and recreation domain. Through a competency-based education format and state-of-the-practice golf training equipment, students are given opportunities for success in their academic, professional, and personal lives.

The following goals reflect Keiser University’s commitment to golf management education:

  1. Present students with a comprehensive background in the history, rules and traditions of golf
  2. Expose students to the proper physical and mental competencies required of golf industry professionals.
  3. Develop students’ abilities in analyzing and making decisions regarding managing golf facilities and equipment, course operations, as well as staff.
  4. Provide students the opportunity to demonstrate effective teaching techniques used in playing golf.
  5. Examine and synthesize golf management in relation to the hospitality industry.

Program Highlights

Students in the golf management program develop both technical golf skills and business acumen through courses covering tournament operations, club management, golf club fitting and repair, and advanced golf instruction. The program allows students to focus on one class at a time and build their knowledge base at a steady, manageable pace.
