Digital Forensics and Incident Response Program Overview

Keiser University’s Bachelor of Science in Digital Forensics and Incident Response equips students with the knowledge and technical skills needed to investigate cybercrimes and respond to cyber incidents. The program covers forensic methodology, evidence acquisition, malware analysis, network intrusion analysis, and legal considerations for prosecuting computer crimes. Students learn to detect compromised systems, identify how and when attacks occurred, analyze digital evidence to determine data integrity, and contain security incidents effectively. Through practical lab work and theoretical study, graduates develop the critical thinking and technical abilities required for careers in digital forensics, incident response, and cybersecurity investigation.

Mission Statement

Keiser University’s Bachelors of Science degree in Digital Forensics prepares students for a position in the field of Digital Forensics with an emphasis on Incident Response. Courses prepare students to sit for industry‐accepted competency examinations.

Program Goals

  1. Develop Core Forensic Skills to equip students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in computer and digital forensics, enabling them to investigate and analyze digital evidence effectively.
  2. Enhance Cybersecurity Proficiency – provide students with programming and technical skills to secure systems, detect threats, and mitigate vulnerabilities in networks, operating systems, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
  3. Advance Data and Multimedia Forensics Expertise – prepare students to analyze complex datasets, including structured and unstructured data, and perform forensic investigations on images, videos, and Windows environments.
  4. Integrate Security and Forensic Applications – teach students to apply forensic principles in real-world scenarios through advanced coursework in malware analysis, networking security, and information security applications
  5. Foster Analytical and Investigative Competence to cultivate critical thinking and problem solving skills through case studies and advanced investigative techniques, enabling students to approach forensic challenges methodically and ethically.

The BS in Digital Forensics and Incident Response at Keiser University prepares students to investigate cybercrimes, analyze digital evidence, and respond to security incidents.
