Being able to solve problems and try to figure out what exactly happened and try to help whoever is the victim is amazing. In a smaller classroom setting you have more time with your teacher. A lot of times you’re just a name on a paper in a bigger class but in Keiser’s smaller classes format, it’s a little more personable, and one class at a time is very helpful.

Top Questions About Earning a General Studies Associate Degree

Can I earn a General Studies Healthcare Foundations Pathway degree online at Keiser University?

Yes. Keiser offers this Associate of Arts in General Studies online and on campus. Students receive the same quality instruction, support, and resources across both formats. The online learning format gives working professionals, parents, military personnel, and anyone balancing other responsibilities the flexibility to keep moving toward a healthcare career.

What is the difference between the AA in General Studies and the healthcare pathway degree?

The General Studies – Healthcare Foundations Pathway gives you the flexibility to explore courses across multiple healthcare disciplines while building a strong academic foundation for future nursing and allied health careers.  Other general studies programs offer a curriculum providing broad exposure to multiple disciplines, suited for students who want to explore different subjects, plan to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program, or need a customized education plan that standard programs don’t offer.

Is this pathway a pre-nursing program or a pre-allied health program?

The pathway serves both goals, which makes it a practical pre-nursing program and pre–allied health option for anyone not yet committed to one field. Keiser designed it for students whose ultimate goal includes nursing and allied health. Science courses such as Human Anatomy/Physiology I and II appear on the prerequisite lists of several other healthcare programs, including the Respiratory Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant associate of science degree programs. A Keiser University academic advisor can help you plan electives around the nursing program or allied health field you want to enter.

Can I transfer credits from another institution?

Yes, Keiser University accepts transfer credits for undergraduate and graduate-level programs. Our admissions team will work with you to review your transcripts and determine your transfer eligibility. Credits transfer based on factors such as the institution’s accreditation and course equivalency. Learn more about credit transfer requirements and eligibility requirements.

Is financial aid available for online students at Keiser University?

Absolutely. Online students in this program may qualify for grants, scholarships, and tuition assistance programs. Military veterans may also qualify for education benefits. Speak with a dedicated financial aid counselor to explore all available options and create a plan that fits your situation. Learn more about Keiser University’s Financial Services.

How long does it take to complete the associate degree in general studies Healthcare Foundations Pathway?

Most students complete the 60-credit-hour program in approximately 20 months when attending full time. Completion time depends on transfer credits, course load each term, and full-time or part-time enrollment. Those with transfer credits or prior learning assessments may finish in less than two years. Contact an admissions advisor for a personal estimate.

How much does the AA in General Studies degree cost?

Total program costs vary based on the number of credit hours required and applicable educational fees. Keiser University offers financial aid, military and veteran benefits, scholarships, and employer tuition reimbursement for students who qualify. Use the Tuition Calculator to estimate your costs, or speak with an admissions advisor who can walk you through tuition, fees, and available financial assistance options.
