Britney explains that students begin by learning vital signs and, more importantly, how to properly interpret them, giving them the confidence to recognize potential health concerns and understand the importance of patient care beyond basic procedures.
As a former student herself, Britney reflects on how Keiser University first introduced her to the medical assisting field through outreach at her high school. She describes how inspiring it is to now work alongside her former instructor and mentor. Britney also highlights the flexibility of the program, which allows students to complete their core coursework in 10 months while continuing their general education classes and working in the field. She encourages prospective students to explore medical assisting as a pathway into healthcare, noting that it can open doors to many future opportunities, including nursing and other advanced careers. Seeing former students continue to grow professionally is something she finds especially rewarding.
