Criminal Justice (Forensics Concentration), BA to MACJ (Accelerated)

Keiser University’s accelerated BACJ to MACJ dual-degree program equips learners, especially adult learners, with knowledge and skills that the criminal justice system demands at an accelerated pace with seamless transition from undergraduate study to graduate study. For students who have the potential and would like to accelerate their education journey, this substitution will prepare BACJ students for their MACJ study and reduce the overall credit hours and the duration of the study to get both undergraduate and graduate degrees in criminal justice. This approach will build a “bridge” for the BACJ students to advance to the MACJ program on a fast track. The opportunity to earn both degrees in an accelerated manner increases the value students derive from their educational experience at Keiser University.

BA in Criminal Justice Program Objectives
The following objectives are designed to meet Keiser University’s mission and its objectives:
To develop students’ ability to understand the tools and procedures used by various agencies within the criminal justice system;
To develop students’ ability to think critically and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
To assist students in becoming more proficient in researching, collecting and organizing complex data, solving problems and working collaboratively;
To prepare students for employment and advancement in criminal justice related fields.
MA in Criminal Justice Program Objectives
Keiser University’s MACJ program enables students to contribute to the criminal justice profession and fosters independent learning. Upon completion of this program, students are able to:
Evaluate an agency’s ability to meet the safety needs of a community including corrections, law enforcement and administration of justice;
Evaluate, research and critically analyze gaps or deficiencies in criminal justice services;
Effectively and ethically lead and manage criminal justice, community services, and human/social services professionals in both public and private sectors;
Evaluate contemporary criminal justice systems and their policies and practices;
Evaluate the psychological basis, nature and causes of crime: typologies and offenders;
Demonstrate professional communication skills in writing through organizing, thinking critically, and communicating ideas and information in documents and presentations.

Program Outline
The accelerated dual degree program is a 150 credit hours program that allows eligible students to complete both Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (BACJ) and Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (MACJ) degrees in an accelerated time frame.
