Now embracing a career she’d envisioned as a Keiser University College of Chiropractic Medicine (KUCCM) student, Dr. Elle Biegel is enjoying the fast-paced role of administering chiropractic care to musicians and crews on tour.
Joining her husband, Dr. Kris Biegel, a 2022 KUCCM graduate and Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, as part of the touring team and New York City office known as The Metal Chiro and B2B Chiropractor, Biegel shared details of how the practice to provide rockstars and crew members personalized mobile backstage care came about.
“Patience and dedication. I created the concept for The Metal Chiro while I was in my first year of chiropractic school, and I sat on the idea until I became a licensed chiropractor. Once I received licensure, I went full force on building the name, logo, brand colors, and vibe, followed by lots of cold outreach that turned into some of the best opportunities of my life,” she said. “Luckily for me, my husband, Dr. Kris Biegel, is also a chiropractor, so in a sense, I have double coverage between our office and tours, which is extremely helpful,” she said, while adding, “Dr. Kris is not only my rock, but he is my biggest supporter, and he is just as much of what The Metal Chiro embodies as I am. We bounce ideas off one another constantly, and it really makes the entire experience so much more enjoyable knowing that I’m out here doing this wildly amazing niche with my best friend.”
The opportunity to professionally partner as a spouse holds special meaning for Kris Biegel as well.
“I take great pride in being part of The Metal Chiro and working alongside my wife, Dr. Elle, to bring high-level chiropractic care to touring musicians and their crews. There’s nothing like helping artists stay strong and perform at their best while being part of something that connects the worlds of music and medicine. When I’m not on the road, I’m back in Manhattan at B2B Chiropractic, where Elle and I help our local patients from performers to everyday professionals restore balance, strength, and longevity through personalized, hands-on care,” he said.
Elle Biegel said their unique focus of treating musicians and crew members onsite includes visiting smaller to large-capacity venues throughout Florida and New York, primarily. While embracing a sport and rehabilitative approach that includes adjusting, stretching, myofascial release, kinesiology taping, cupping techniques, and more, the pair treats gifted artists while supporting their love for music.
When asked if high-energy performers require different care than the average person, Elle Biegel said, “As I like to say, each patient on each day will have their own unique necessities. No one style of treatment or protocol will fit everyone, so we tailor care to each patient. One day, someone may require a more aggressive approach, while the next time they may require a gentler approach. It’s really just dependent on who needs what at that time.”
Elle Biegel recommends that fellow learners envision and roadmap the future in detail.
“Don’t be afraid of doubt, change, or the unknown. Picture what you want to do and think about how you’re going to get there. Will this be obtainable in one week? One month? Or even one year? If so, how will you make it financially feasible, and what will you say or do that sets you apart from all the other chiropractors out there trying to do the same thing? Be receptive to learning, making mistakes, and rebuilding to do what it takes to make it to the top,” she said.
As a ballet dancer in middle and high school, Elle Biegel had originally planned to pursue a profession in performing arts, but the vision was derailed due to a 2010 motor vehicle accident that caused multiple-level disc herniations in her neck and low back. The restorative journey that followed further encouraged her lifelong interest in holistic healing.
“Post-accident, I began treatment at a local chiropractic and physical therapy office. This not only enticed my interest in the chiropractic profession but also ensured me a more functional life without invasive interventions,” she said while adding that her prior study of biomedical sciences and law were helpful with the restorative process, and the inspiring insights she gained from her husband Kris, helped fuel her interest. After enrolling in KUCCM in 2020 and gaining clinical service in a variety of settings, Biegel graduated in 2023, intending to shine a light on the profession’s success stories and its legitimacy while encouraging collaboration among providers. “I believe that if a heavier emphasis on holistic trials of care were employed, there would be an increase in inter-professional collaboration,” she said.
B2B Chiropractor was created with a simple mission: to provide chiropractic care that goes beyond the standard quick adjustment. As a boutique practice in Midtown East, it provides one-on-one sessions tailored to each client’s unique needs.
