Keiser University Sarasota Campus learners Makenna Spina and Adam Cota send their appreciation to Take Care Home Health for their generosity and confidence as they pursue their degrees in healthcare.

In honor of the organization’s 30th Anniversary and its quest to ‘empower aspiring nursing students to lead the future of health,’ the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students were awarded Take Care Home Health Emerging Nursing Leader Scholarships of $3000 each.

“Our 30th anniversary has given us many chances to reflect on what we’ve accomplished for clients, the opportunities we’ve created for our team, and the ways we can give back,” shared Take Care Founder and CEO Susanne S. Wise, RN, MBA. “As we strengthen our community bonds even further, we are making this investment with these scholarships – as part of our steadfast commitment to continuing to support nursing as a profession. We are thrilled to support Makenna and Adam as they continue their journey toward a rewarding career in nursing.”

As a longtime community leader, Keiser University Vice Chancellor and Sarasota Campus President Dr. Michele Morgan shared her appreciation for the collaboration.

“I can’t overstate how vital outstanding partners like Take Care Home Health are to us as we provide well-rounded educational opportunities for our students. Hearing Susanne’s story of how Take Care Home Health started is very inspiring for our students. It reinforces the deep desire that she and her daughter, as nurses, have to truly ‘take care’ of our community health needs exceedingly well, and with true compassion,” she said.

Spina and Cota are also grateful to Keiser University Nursing Program Chair Dr. Susan Cohen and Director of Financial Aid Matt Sands, who were instrumental in the scholarship application process.

Take Care’s Emerging Nursing Leaders Scholarship is dedicated to supporting the next generation of compassionate, skilled, and visionary health care professionals. Rooted in Take Care’s commitment to personalized, exceptional home health care, this scholarship empowers emerging leaders in the nursing field who are driven to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. This scholarship was created in May 2025 to commemorate Take Care’s 30th anniversary and inspire future caring,  compassionate caregivers and nursing leaders in the Sarasota/Manatee community. Through this initiative, we honor the caregivers and health care heroes of tomorrow—today.

Keiser University’s Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is offered for students beginning their first professional nursing program. Graduates will be prepared to provide compassionate, patient-centered, culturally competent nursing care to individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations in a variety of settings, using evidence-based knowledge and skills related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management, and end-of-life care to improve healthcare outcomes. They will practice in partnership with patients as members and leaders of interprofessional healthcare teams, utilizing the most current healthcare technologies. Successful completion of this program qualifies graduates to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
