Commencement is always a special time to celebrate our graduates and the commencement ceremony at the Lakeland campus was no different. Roughly 140 Lakeland students received their diplomas during the evening with close to 1,000 family members and friends in attendance to witness this important achievement. Their keynote speaker was Commissioner Melony Bell, Polk County District 2. She spoke about the Polk County Workforce, securing the high skill, high wage job these students are now qualified for as well as her own experience with her education while working full time and raising children; something that all of our students can relate to in one way or another. Overall, the experience was a meaningful and memorable evening full of celebration and accomplishments.
