Sarasota’s Level 2 Associate of Science Nursing students participated in a disaster drill during their clinical rotation at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota.  The drill was run by state officials, and the students participated by acting out the roles of the victims.  In a scenario chosen by the state, the facility planned and executed the drill while officials evaluated how well the situation was managed.  The students were given a brief description of their role, but they were allowed to enhance it however they wished.  This led to a more realistic setting in which the caregivers never knew what was going to happen.
