Students in the Bachelor of Science in Dietetics & Nutrition Program from the Pembroke Pines campus participated in the 3^rd Annual Diabetes Awareness Event at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex in Miami Gardens, hosted by Vice Mayor, Lisa C. Davis. KU was invited to attend and present interactive learning activities to help encourage a healthy lifestyle within the community. Students talked with participants about nutrition label reading, carbohydrate counting, meal planning, and they hosted a game of Nutrition Jeopardy. Students and faculty alike appreciated the opportunity to give back to the community and promote healthy living.
