The Medical Laboratory Technician program at the Orlando campus recently purchased a state-of-the-art hematology instrument that differentiates and counts red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Medical laboratory professionals use instruments such as this to generate 70-80% of the scientific data used by physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Students in the Medical Laboratory Technician program are learning how to operate the instrument and assure the quality of the results so that they can serve as effective members of the healthcare team.
