The West Palm Beach microeconomics class had the wonderful opportunity of visiting the expanding pharmaceutical firm, Sancilio & Company, Inc., in Riviera Beach.      The site visit included the sharing of a rich and informative overview of the company business model, as well as, general advice to students looking to begin or further a career, with Ms. Alex Sancilio and Mr. Ted Stover, V.P. Operations, presiding.  Students’ research and preparation prior to arrival proved beneficial in offering meaningful contributions to all the discussions.  This was followed by a full tour of the facilities, demonstrating the breadth of the company’s research and development efforts and manufacturing capabilities.

The students welcomed general advice, including the importance of the ability to assimilate a lot of information, rather than memorizing.  Too, the willingness to get your “hands dirty” and taking on responsibilities for which you might not get paid, was stressed.  As well, students heard about the keys to success as having to do with discipline and having a passion for one’s work.

Finally, it is important to note Sancilio & Company, Inc. is growing, and has provided multiple internships to Keiser University students in the past.  Internships are available!
