The nursing department was part of a high school medical field trip that was held in the Melbourne campus.  Here students were able to learn about the nursing profession and get hands on with skills under the supervision of a nursing instructor.  Michelle Lugo MSN, RN lead the group into different activities such as observing an insertion of an IV, insertion of a nasogastric tube, insertion of a foley catheter, and they even practiced how to change dirty baby diapers.  Five stations were set up in order to give them a personal experience and practice what nurses do on a daily basis.
