IRB training for graduate students will take place each semester. These sessions support students who are approaching the stage of their academic journey when they will begin preparing their IRB applications for review.
Student focused training sessions help graduate students understand when to begin preparing their IRB applications and how the review process fits within their academic timeline.
As a reminder, researchers must obtain IRB approval prior to any participant contact or data collection.
Students in doctoral programs should be preparing their dissertation proposal at this stage. After successfully defending the proposal, students may submit their IRB application for review.
If you are unsure about your timeline, please contact your faculty advisor, dissertation chair, or department chair for guidance.
Each semester, these training sessions support graduate students as they move forward in the research process and prepare their applications for review. Faculty members may also attend these sessions.
