“Based on my father’s recommendation that I look into Keiser University because of their reputation with radiologic technology, I visited and met with Greg Pelz, Associate Director of Admissions. Mr. Pelz correctly identified Occupational Therapy Assisting as an opportunity for me to utilize my theater and acting experience to provide creative solutions for patients’ therapeutic treatment. Jeremy Gonzales, Occupational Therapy Assistant faculty member, was always understanding and accommodated my needs, especially when my father got sick with bone cancer and I would receive updates from family members during class. As the Vice President of the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA), I have become a better leader, scheduled volunteer opportunities and mastered time management, which is key to being a good COTA! Keiser University has been able to accommodate my schedule working part-time and having family responsibilities.”
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
