Clearwater campus sponsored a month-long drive to collect prom dresses and other items and services useful to a high school couple attending their prom. The cause was selected as a worthwhile project when campus administrators, faculty, staff and students realized the costly aspects of prom could deter students from attending the event, often a milestone for high school students. According to the Visa “2014 Prom Spending Survey” published in 2015, the average student spent $919 on their prom experience. As the culmination of these efforts, on April 16th the campus held an open house for all high school seniors planning on attending their senior prom.  Each student could come and pick out a dress to wear to their prom.  The University was also able to secure additional donations and provide a hair styling services from McMahan Salon, nails, and a boutonniere for her date.  Featured here is Michelee Alvarez, with her mother.
