Over several weeks, the CSI students documented the life cycle of the common blow fly using an Opossum (roadkill).  The students examined the experiment daily where they documented the various stages and progression from fly eggs through the larval stages and to the pupae stage and each CSI provided a final entomological report for a class project grade.  Pupae were collected and observed as they matured and subsequently emerged from the pupa as adult flies which were released to renew the life cycle.
