Cynthia Wilson, Senior Federal Probation Officer from the North Florida Division, came to speak to the Criminal Justice students at the Tallahassee campus. She educated the students on the processes of Federal Probation and its importance in our community. Mrs. Wilson gave the students an inside look on what a day in the life of a Federal probation officer entails. She discussed the importance of tax fraud and credit card fraud especially with the upcoming holiday season. She gave a few tips on protecting ourselves from tax fraud as it has become an epidemic in Florida.
Officer Wilson also informed the students about the internship program that her department offers and that she really believes that our career focused students and university can provide some quality help for her office. We look forward to working with Officer Wilson and her office and hope to have students interning there in January.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
