Keiser University Dietetic & Nutrition students and faculty attended Legislative Day in Tallahassee. Upon arriving at the Capitol, the group proceeded to the Senate Chambers and made it just as the Senate was due to vote on the Dietetics and Nutrition Practice Act. The House of Representatives unanimously passed this bill last week, which protects Florida citizens by licensing qualified dietitians/nutritionists. They were able to meet with Senator Soto of Orlando (in picture) and the staff of Representative Neil Combee and Senator Kelli Stargel, both of Lakeland.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
