The SGA at the Fort Myers campus recently treated the students of their campus to a very special experience.  A limited amount of current students were invited to join the SGA and local shark fishing team, Shark Hookers, for a night of catch-and-release shark fishing/tagging from a local beach, with all proceeds going directly to the SGA.  The night turned out to be a huge success in both attendance and luck, as a 7’+ lemon shark was successfully landed and released.  The tagging process was skipped over in order to preserve the health of this animal in particular, but the experience of seeing an amazing predator up close will forever stay with those in attendance and help to spread awareness of their need of conservation.  Congratulations to all involved, and especially to Sports Medicine and Fitness student Juvert Calero for reeling the shark in.
