Fort Lauderdale Nursing students took part in a learning workshop with the Department of Health where they learned about two important health issues. First, Michele-Ange Etienne, RN and Public Health Outreach Nurse, talked to the students about the Zika virus. Then, Yvette A. Gonzalez, MPH CCHW, Perinatal Prevention Director, spoke to the students about HIV in pregnancy and how HIV is transmitted.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
