Trying to keep that resolution to eat healthy and watch your weight? If you’ve fallen off the wagon, it’s not too late to climb back on. Chef McGuinness, Dean of Culinary Arts at the Melbourne campus, offers tips and recipes for time saving, nutrient dense breakfast smoothies that will power you through your morning.

Banana Split Sunday Smoothie

1 cup fresh blueberries

1 cup fresh spinach

1 ripe banana, sliced

1 Tablespoon almond butter

2 tsp. cocoa powder

1 cup ice

1  cup vanilla almond milk

Place all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Add more almond milk to thin, if necessary.

The Black Beauty 

1 cup blackberries

1 cup kale

1 ½ teaspoons fresh ginger

1 Tablespoon agave nectar

1 Tablespoon raw oatmeal

1 ripe banana, sliced

1 cup ice

1 cup almond milk

1 Tablespoon almond butter

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Adjust the consistency with additional almond milk or water.

The Bahia Blush 

1 cup raspberries

1 cup mango

1 banana

1 ½ tsp. ginger

1 Tablespoon raw oatmeal

½ cup orange juice

½ cup ice

1 cup coconut milk

Pinch of fresh nutmeg

Place all……. You get it.
