In honor of Memorial Day, KU Jacksonville Student Government Association created a tribute board. The board is a collaboration of our very own KU veterans, whether they are faculty or student. The Veteran’s name, branch or service, and years of service are displayed on the wall; we then allowed all students, and faculty alike, to join us in writing a small personal “thank you” to those of the KU family who have sacrificed so much for our country. The proceeds that were collected from handing out a yellow ribbon pin to those who could donate any amount, are going to be given to The Veteran’s Farm of Jacksonville. The Veteran’s Farm is a local organization that works to rehabilitate veterans with stress disorders back into civilization.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
