Keiser University Cinematic Arts, Esports and Criminal Justice program leaders and students are teaming to support Ultracon of South Florida, a comic book, sports card, vintage toy collectible, and anime convention to be held at the South Florida Fairgrounds Expo Center in West Palm Beach, Florida August 27-28, 2022.
As leaders of the event gear up to welcome hundreds of vendors from the world of comedic animation and collectibles, they will also host Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Tournaments in coordination with Keiser University’s Esports team and a Cosplay Contest in which performers dressed in costumes representing characters from anime, video games, and television compete.
After publishing videos to help publicize the event, Keiser University Cinematic Arts students will soon film a documentary of the affair. “The video production opportunities provide students experience with creating works for clients as freelancers and filming the documentary will ensure they have even more experience in the field while allowing them the opportunity to work with and film Ultracon celebrities,” said Keiser University Cinematic Arts Program Director Samantha Kountz of the occasion.
Safety and security measures will also be supported by Keiser University’s Criminal Justice Department leaders and students. “We are using the opportunity to discuss issues like crowd control, communications in a loud and large venue, how to create cross coverage, and the evaluation of potential points of conflict and theft,” said Professor Scott Addlesberger of his program’s collaboration with event organizers.
