Keiser University’s two top golf coaches recently gathered their players to enjoy a friendly challenge at the PGA National Resort & Spa Squire Golf Course.

Brandon Miller, a two-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Golf Coach of the Year and Frank Longabucco, Head Golf Coach for the University’s College of Golf (COG) National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA) team, recently gathered two teams from each of their associations to tee it up in a 9-hole stroke play format, with four of five players’ scores counting on each team.

The contest kicked in to full gear when NCCGA competitor Austin Corcimiglia led all players with an excellent 2-under par round of 34. The NAIA Team #1 had the lowest total of 149, followed by the NCCGA Team #1 with 153. NAIA Team #2 scored 155, and NCCGA Team #2 tallied 167.

The friendly get-together encouraged camaraderie among the teams, as it allowed the groups to get into the competitive spirit, and prepared them for upcoming competitions. Coach Miller and Coach Longabucco both intend to continue these matches, as the players’ responses were overwhelmingly positive.
