Under the leadership of Financial Aid Administrator Abia Afzal, Keiser University Flagship campus staff, faculty and students recently enjoyed supporting the Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHSFL) through gift card donations generated by ‘Dress Down’ days.

The initiative was developed by Afzal after volunteering at the organization for years along with her mother. “As a family, we enjoy spending time with the children which range from newborn to 18-years-old,” said Afzal. “ We join them as much as we can, and on the weekends participate in a variety of activities including arts and crafts. The teenagers also benefit very much from mentoring, as they sometimes may feel overlooked,” she said.

With the mission of building bridges to success for children, the Children’s Home Society of Florida leads the way in developing and delivering solutions that drastically change life trajectories for children and families. With the goal of investing in lasting solutions that empower children and families to cross bridges that lead to success, the organization is implementing one-of-a-kind solutions that change the future for children, families and communities.
