Edward Hnat promised himself, and everyone else, that he would physically walk across the stage at his college commencement ceremony. And he did just that…with a standing ovation from his classmates. Mr. Hnat was then honored by his high school at his 50th  high school reunion with an honorary degree, as the Vietnam Veteran enlisted and was deployed prior to finishing high school (Hnat earned his general education diploma during his three years in the U.S. Army).
