Greg Williams, University Department Chair for Graphic Arts & Design, shared the below release from Cinema Italy about the Lakeland student who’s artwork was chosen:

CINEMA ITALY STIMULATING AND PROMOTING GROWING TALENTS

We are delighted to unveil this year’s image and to share the exciting story behind its creation, as it has been designed for the second time in close collaboration with Keiser University and its graphic design students.

Since 2015 we launched a competition among KU’s graphic design students to create the actual CINEMA ITALY image, with the aim to stimulate and promote growing talents by offering them a platform for demonstrating their capacity to capture an idea and transform it into art.

The diversity of the entries as well as the muse and creativity of these growing talents was just remarkable! Finally, the artwork of Naomi Cortez won this year’s competition to design the image for the XIV CI Miami and XI CI Atlanta.
MS. Cortez was assisted in this endevour by photographer Greg Williams, Instructor at Keiser University, and model Alexandrya Roman, also a student at Keiser.

CINEMA ITALY recognizes Naomi Cortez and her winning work.
At the same time, we are pleased to support and promote growing talents through our platform and we are already curious to see more of them.
