The Lakeland campus chose not to include the dunk tank at this year’s summer Open House, so the instructors of the Graphics Arts & Design program had to find a another fun way to stay cool during the event. Their solution was to host a series of free photography seminars in the air conditioning in conjunction with the other summer activities.

Greg Williams and Kerri Percy, both professional photographers, enlisted the help of several other professional photographers to make the summer festival a day of learning and showcasing their program. The seminars included:

·                  How to use your camera

·                  How to work with, light and photograph a model, led by KU alum, Anthony Sassano

·                  The basics of image editing with Adobe Lightroom with Ken Budy Photography

·                  And small groups of novice photographers, led by professional photographers, walking around the festivities and applying their new skills

The program had over 50 former and future students, photographers, and guests attend the workshops.
