Medical Assistants are multi-skilled allied health professionals who perform a wide range of administrative and clinical roles requiring skill, dedication, and loyalty. They are central figures in promoting and maintaining cooperative and successful relationships between patients and physicians. Medical Assistants are vital members of the health care delivery system and make a substantial contribution to the quality of healthcare in the United States. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, Medical Assisting continues to be one of the fastest growing occupations.

As Program Chair for Medical Assisting here at Keiser University Pembroke Pines campus it is truly an honor to dedicate this week to the success stories of individuals who were hired by doctors after they had completed their three hundred and twenty hours of externship.

Those graduates are: Stephanie Cordoba, Cristina Ravelo, Karla Bravomalo, Roxana Ramirez, Paloma Oviedo, Tatiana Hernandez, Cristina Andres, Jennifer Caamano, Tibayre Dugarte, Nexzahi Gomez

I hope that with continued effort more students will follow in a similar career path and join this list. As we celebrate Medical Assisting recognition week, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all members of the faculty and staff at the Keiser University Pembroke Pines campus for their contributions made to the success of these students.

Dr. Adrian Katwaroo, Program Chair, Medical Assisting at KU Pembroke Pines
