During National Nutrition Month, students in the Dietetics and Nutrition program at the Melbourne campus are creating a variety of healthy foods. By experimenting with fresh and seasonal ingredients they learned the art and craft of canning to make low-sugar apple butter, red hot pepper jelly, strawberry chia jam, and spicy dill quick pickles. They learned it is important to eat less processed foods and to do that it helps to increase the intake of fruits and vegetables.
