The Miami campus’s Medical Assisting department headed by Dr. Gonzalez, joined forces with Dr. Noya’s psychology students and Writing Coordinator Belkis Cabrera to create a cross-disciplinary anti-bullying multimedia project.  This project-based learning experience presented an opportunity for the students to conduct research on bullying and uncover the effects of bullying in the medical profession, including strategies for dealing with such behavior.  Dr. Gonzalez worked with the Writing Coordinator to create the rubric for the project.  Students visited the Writing Studio for help with their writing and with incorporating innovative technologies in their final presentations.  These final projects included role-playing, original skits, a 3D model, and even a poignantly honest student-directed documentary on bullying, where students interviewed fellow students on their perceptions of and experiences with bullying.
