Traveling the halls of the Daytona Beach campus recently you would have seen the Occupational Therapy students practicing hands on learning. Ambulation  (ambulate means “to walk”) was the subject and students were learning what many of their clients may experience when using crutches, wheelchairs, walkers and canes. The OTA class took turns operating types of equipment used for ambulation, trying to maneuver throughout the classroom hallways.  When asked about the experience, Levi Langdale said, “Walking with the quad cane today helped me get a better understanding of my patient’s limitations”.
