Dr. Stefane Dias, Exercise Science professor from the Orlando campus, participated in a seminar in Moscow with sambo coach Pavel Pashkin.
The seminar lasted 12 hours and Dr. Dias gave lectures on periodization, modern methods of training, performance testing, psychology of athletes and sports nutrition.
This event was organized through the State University of Russia MFTI, together with the Prosportlab. Attending were various coaches and athletes from Moscow.
After hearing and learning various training methods, there was an opportunity to practice the concepts that had been discussed in the gym.
At the end of the course there was a round table where participants could discuss aspects of athletic training with 4 time Russian sambo and 2 time combat sambo world champion, Alexey Ivanov.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
