Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology students from the Orlando campus volunteered running an event known as GRID 6 of the Florida Grid League in Tampa recently. GRID 6 is a fitness based competition that consists of a series of short, fast, high adrenaline, high excitement races that are executed as a team of players with different roles. GRID 6 teams consist of 3 men and 3 women who can be body weight (gymnastics) specialists, barbell specialists, or generalists. A head to head fitness competition with various levels of difficulty ensures that anyone can participate and break performance barriers never before thought possible! Our students worked in roles ranging from referees, equipment movers, logistics, and safety monitoring during competition. It was a great experience and opportunity for students to see things working at real time within their major’s industry.
