Equine-Assisted Therapy was been a great learning opportunity for Occupational Therapy Assistant students in fieldwork. Equine therapeutic activities are a form of therapy that involves interaction between client and horses. It promotes occupational, physical and emotional growth for persons with different types of diagnoses, including autism. Hippotherapy can help individuals build social skills, self-confidence, self-efficacy, communication skills and learn responsibility.
