The Radiologic Technology students took a field trip to The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium for the, “Our Body: The Universe Within” exhibit, where they were able to bring to life the black and white CT and MR images from their textbooks.  They were able to see over 20 real life cadavers and their various organ systems presented in each display.  There was a wide variety of pathologic conditions available to examine, like smoker’s lungs, conjoined twins, cirrhosis of the liver, renal failure, and more.  The exhibit also included sagittal and axial slices so they were able to see the exact planes that we view in the imaging field on real human bodies.  They had an unexpected surprise when they toured the rest of the science museum and found other core concepts on display as well, such as electrical transformers, gravity, and even an x-ray room.
