The Juvenile Probation Officer Supervisor, along with a new Probation Officer, the Detention Center Superintendent, and two detention center officers, came to the Sarasota campus. They discussed the whole process of Juvenile Probation from referrals, to arrest, to detention, diversion and finally in some cases adjudication. The group brought real life experiences and engaged all the participants, leading to the hands on search and detainment of a faculty member. The criminal justice, crime scene/forensic investigation, paralegal/legal studies, and business departments all came together for the presentation.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
