The West Palm Beach campus welcomes a new Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Fabiana DesRosiers, who received her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from Fordham University, an M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Fordham, and a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from Binghamton University. [FYI: Applied Developmental Psychology is concerned with enhancing developmental processes from the “womb to the tomb” and preventing psychopathology in individuals and families from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds across the lifespan.]  Her areas of specialization have been particularly focused in the area of child and adolescent development, teaching of psychology, and first year student and first generation student experiences in higher education.

Her previous position was as an  Associate Professor of Psychology and Division Director of Social Sciences at Dominican College located in Rockland County, NY. Besides overseeing Criminal Justice, History, Psychology, Social Sciences, and Social Work, she was very active in the Honors Program, Freshman Year Program, and the Psychology Program.

Some interesting facts about her are that her parents are from Argentina and as a result she is bilingual. She has been married for almost 22 years and has two college aged children, and  a senior dog (a 13 year old Yorkie).  Within the past month she and her family relocated to West Palm Beach county after she accepted her new position with KU.
