Our students at the Latin American campus in Nicaragua are helping make a difference by assisting patients with orthopedic conditions together with members of the Paley Foundation as part of the foundation’s annual trip to Nicaragua. The Paley Foundation is dedicated to providing needed services to children and adults around the world who suffer from rare congenital, genetic, developmental and post-trauma orthopedic conditions. The foundation’s program in Nicaragua started approximately 5 years ago and provides nearly 30 surgeries, recovery therapy for patients, and medical training for Nicaraguan orthopedic surgeons every year, among other services. The campus welcomed members of the foundation to discuss volunteer opportunities and other cooperation initiatives to benefit students’ learning experience and the community.
