Chef Joshua Turek’s Tallahassee Baking & Pastry students went on a field trip to Lofty Pursuits, which is a local Victorian candy, and ice cream store. The students got to tour the kitchen, learn about classic candy making, and were invited to take part in making raspberry drop candies, and hand pulled lollipops. After the demo, the candy maker showed the class several antique candy tools, and discussed how techniques and favors of non-crystalline candies have changed over the past fifty years.
