Tampa’s Occupational Therapy and Nursing students routinely collaborate for an “Interprofessional Education Workshop.” This workshop affords students from each program an opportunity to work together in synthesizing discipline-specific knowledge during scenario-based training. An outcome of this scenario-based training is that both OTA and Nursing students get a glimpse into the day-to-day responsibilities and practices of each profession.  The day included a morning presentation, student interviews, and finally concluded with the OTA students training the Nursing students in proper ergonomics with functional transfers, including transferring clients into cars when clients are ready to go home.
