The Miami campus’ first Physical Therapist Assistant class in the PHT1300 Medical Diseases course had its first Wound Care Lab. The PTA program faculty in conjunction with faculty from the Nursing program worked together as part of the inter-professional initiative on campus to provide the students with an inter-professional experience. The PTA students learned proper aseptic techniques including standard precautions, setting sterile fields, hand washing, donning and doffing personal protective equipment, waste disposal, and wound care.
