Keiser University Vice Chancellor Belinda Keiser will be inducted into the Florida Association of Postsecondary School and Colleges Hall of Fame on Thursday, August 3, Keiser will be joined by six higher education leaders at a ceremony at the FAPSC 2023 Annual Conference occurring August 1 – August 3, 2023.
Keiser is the Vice Chancellor of Community Relations and Student Advancement at Keiser University and oversees media and public relations, government relations, student services, and alumni relations, serving for more than 40 years an advocate for social mobility, accessibility to higher education, and talent development.
Keiser has devoted her career to advancing Florida’s higher education, economic and workforce development communities and serves on numerous governmental boards. She is a member of the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet, the Florida Commission on the Status of Women (FCSW), where she serves as the Chair of the Public Policy Committee, and the Board of Directors for both Enterprise Florida and Space Florida.
In 2022, Keiser founded the Keiser University Nursing Advisory Council with a goal of developing practical solutions to help solve the Florida’s nursing shortage by developing short- and long-term solutions to increase the nursing workforce and talent pipeline. The committee, which was made up of 34 government officials, educational leaders, and health care industry experts, presented their recommendations in March 2023. The event drew members of the Florida House and Florida Senate and was covered in depth by media outlets reporting on the State’s nursing shortage.
In addition to her work on behalf of higher education and workforce development, Keiser served as a member of Florida’s Constitution Revision Commission (2017-18), appointed by former Governor Rick Scott. In 2016, she was entered into the Congressional Record in Recognition of Women’s History Month by Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart and Speaker Paul Ryan for her work in the areas of education, public service, and philanthropy.
Keiser also established the Keiser Mills Foundation, which provides unique scholarship and learning opportunities to students seeking international, entrepreneurial, leadership and civic engagement experiences as part of their college education in Florida. Keiser University has awarded over $72 million in scholarships to needs-based and academically deserving students over the last two years. She leads by example throughout the University with her charitable and philanthropic efforts for non-profit organizations close to heart, such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, and the American Cancer Society.
Keiser received a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, a certificate in paralegal studies from Keiser University and a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
