Keiser University Seahawk Lacrosse Team members are living up to their group’s mission of uniting to represent family, friends, fans, and Keiser University by ‘being the hardest working and most respected team’ as they enjoy monthly volunteer activities.

The most recent MacArthur Beach State Park clean-up held special meaning for the group. “Our coaches and players use area beaches a lot, so we always do one to two beach clean-ups each year,” said Coach Patrick Johnston of the effort which was part of the International Coastal Clean-Up. “The community service events help us achieve our mission in a lot of aspects, and our team members also enjoy spending time together as they work to support the community and our natural environment,” added Johnston who shared that the activities become a family affair as relatives participate.

With last year’s season cut short due to COVID19, the #2 ranked group in the country is embracing their ‘Unfinished Business’ mantra and remains more motivated than ever as they begin practices. “We had three seniors from last season return to compete one last time since the athletic year was cut short, and they are setting the tone and pushing our underclassmen every day as we recall what was taken from us. Not only are we looking to pick up where we left off, but our goal is to excel one step further as a team and a program,” smiled Johnston.
